Vibrators
Vibrating panties: what you are really buying is a magnet
Nobody has a problem with the vibration. The complaints in this category are all about the toy moving, being heard, or dropping out of the underwear entirely.
A panty vibrator is a small curved toy held against the body by a magnet that sits on the outside of your underwear, or by a pouch sewn into underwear the brand supplies. It is designed to be worn under clothes in public, which means the engineering that matters is not the motor. It is the hold, the noise and the radio link.
The magnet route is the one worth buying, because it works with underwear you already own and because the clamping force is adjustable in practice: a thicker fabric weakens the hold, a thinner one strengthens it. The supplied-underwear route locks you into one garment, one size and one wash cycle.
What decides whether it stays put
- Magnet strength against your fabric. A magnet that holds through thin cotton can slide on thick denim-weight underwear or on a seam. Test it at home, walking, before wearing it anywhere.
- The shape of the body-side piece. A flat tab spreads the load and slides. A contoured piece that follows the vulva stays where it was put, because the body holds it as much as the magnet does.
- Noise through clothing. Fabric muffles very little. The audible moment is almost always a hard chair acting as a sounding board, not the toy itself.
- Radio range in a body, not in a shop. The receiver is behind a hip and inside clothing, so usable range is well below any advertised figure. In the same room it is reliable; across a restaurant it is not.
- Whether there is a button on the toy. A toy whose only control is a phone is useless the moment the app logs you out at the wrong moment, which is the single most reported indignity in this category.
Where we would start, and why
- 1
The one built around the hold
We-VibeWe-Vibe Moxie+
A contoured body-side piece with a strong magnet, shaped so the body helps keep it in place rather than relying on the magnet alone. It is also among the quieter options, which is the other half of wearing something in public.
- Strengths
- Shape resists sliding, not just the magnet
- Quiet at usable settings
- Works with your own underwear
- Limitations
- App needed for custom patterns
- Strong magnet needs care near the skin
- Thick fabric weakens the hold
- Best for
- Wearing out, where slipping is the thing that would ruin it.

For control from further away
LovenseLovense Ferri
The same magnetic idea inside the Lovense control stack, which means long-distance control through the brand servers and a physical button on the toy for when there is no phone.
- Strengths
- Long-distance control is mature here
- Physical button works without the app
- Compact body-side piece
- Limitations
- App wants an account
- Flatter shape relies more on the magnet
- Audible at the top settings
- Best for
- Partners apart, or control from another room.
Before wearing one out of the house
Test the hold at home first
With the underwear you intend to wear, walk, climb stairs and sit down. A toy that holds standing still can slide on the second stair.
Find the volume floor, not the ceiling
Sit on a hard chair and run it at each setting. The highest setting you cannot hear from that chair is the only setting that matters in public.
Keep the phone on the same side
A body between the transmitter and the toy costs more range than distance does. A front pocket on the same hip solves most dropouts.
Check the control fallback
Know how to stop it without the phone. If the only off switch is in an app, do not wear it anywhere you could not leave quickly.
Questions people ask
- Can people hear it?
- Through clothing in a normally noisy room, generally not at low settings. On a hard chair, in a quiet room, yes. The seat is the amplifier, not the toy.
- Will it fall out?
- A magnet that is right for your fabric and a contoured body-side piece stay put through ordinary walking. Thick underwear, a seam under the magnet or a flat tab are the three causes of every dropped toy.
- Is it the same as a wearable worn internally?
- No. A panty vibrator stays outside the body, so there is no retrieval question and no internal pressure. It also means the stimulation is external only.
- Do I need the brand underwear?
- Not for magnetic models, and that is their advantage. Supplied underwear locks you into one garment and one size, and it still needs washing between uses.
