Affiliate disclosure

Some links on this site earn us a commission. Here is exactly how that works, and what it does not buy.

PleasureVerdict is free to read and carries no advertising. When a guide links out to a retailer or a manufacturer, that link may earn us a commission if you buy. The price you pay is the same either way, and the retailer, not you, pays the commission.

Outbound buttons are marked as sponsored links and pass through our own redirect, so the destination and any tracking parameter stay out of the page you are reading. Our review method decides the recommendation before any commercial arrangement is considered.

What commission never changes

  • Which product wins. A pick is decided on stated criteria, and a product with no affiliate program can and does win.
  • What a page says about a weakness. If a product has a documented flaw, it appears next to the recommendation.
  • Whether a brand appears at all. We have no minimum coverage obligation to any retailer or manufacturer.

The rules we publish under

Disclosure obligations differ by market, so we follow the strictest reading rather than keeping eight different policies. In the United States that means the Federal Trade Commission guidance on endorsements: disclosure that is clear, conspicuous and close to the link, not buried in a footer. In the United Kingdom it means the Advertising Standards Authority and the CAP Code, in Australia the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, in Canada the Competition Bureau, and across the European Union the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive as implemented locally.

In practice: every page that recommends a product states that outbound links may be commissioned, near the links themselves, in the language of that version of the site.

Questions people ask

Do you accept free products?
Not in exchange for coverage. If a sample is ever accepted for measurement purposes, the page using it will say so explicitly and name the supplier.
Can a brand pay to be reviewed?
No. There is no paid placement, no sponsored post and no paid review on this site.
