Who writes PleasureVerdict
This is the page that would normally show five smiling portraits and a list of invented credentials. It does not, and the reason is the same reason the review pages carry no scores we have not measured.
What is published today, and by whom
The pages on this site at present are editorial work: explanations of materials, of how claims in this category are constructed, of what a measurement would have to state to be worth reading, and of the standards this site holds itself to. They are written against public sources, and where a figure appears it carries the source it came from.
That work is published under the name of the publisher rather than under an individual byline, because a byline is a claim about a person and this site will not make one that is not true. An unsigned page by a publisher that names itself is honest. A signed page by somebody who does not exist is not.
What the site deliberately does not yet contain is a tested verdict. No first party measurement has been made, so there is no reviewer to credit for one, and the test pages say so in their own words rather than implying a bench that is not there.
What has to be true before a name appears on a page here
- A real person, identifiable outside this site. A full name, and a public professional presence a reader can check independently. No pseudonymous expertise.
- A background described accurately, in their own words. What they have done, where, and for how long. No invented titles, no qualifications implied by a vague job description, and no clinical authority unless they genuinely hold it.
- Their actual role on the page stated. Writing, editing, measuring and fact checking are different contributions, and the person who wrote a page is not automatically the person who checked it.
- Their conflicts declared. Anyone who has worked for, been paid by, or been given products by a brand covered here says so on their page, beside the work.
- A route to reach them, through this site. A byline that cannot be questioned is decoration. Correspondence reaches the publisher and is passed on.
Why native reviewers rather than translated bylines
This site is built to serve several languages. The temptation in that arrangement is to machine translate an English page and put an English byline on it, or worse, to invent a local sounding name to carry it. Both are common in this category and both are misrepresentation: the second invents a person, and the first attributes to a writer sentences they never wrote and cannot defend.
So the rule here is that a page in a language gets a contributor who works in that language, or it carries no byline. The French, German and Italian versions are not published yet, which is a direct consequence: the English drafts exist, and until a native reviewer is in place there is nothing to publish rather than something translated.
The same reasoning governs the country versions. Spelling is converted for American, Canadian and British readers mechanically, which is a presentational matter and nobody is credited for it. Anything that is genuinely a local claim, about retailers, pricing or regulation, has to be written by someone who can stand behind it in that market.
How to hold this page to its word
- If a byline appears here without a real background beside it, that is a breach of this page, and the corrections process is the route to say so.
- What a published page is and is not allowed to claim is set out in the editorial policy.
- What a verdict on this site is based on, and what it will not be based on, is set out in how we review.
- Automated tools are used in producing this site, as they are almost everywhere. No page is published without a human reading it against its sources, and no tool is permitted to produce a measurement, a score or a statistic. That is a hard rule rather than an aspiration.
Questions people ask
- Why is nobody named on this page?
- Because naming somebody is a factual claim, and the honest version of this page today is the publisher taking responsibility rather than a cast of characters. Individual contributors will appear here when they are real and can be checked, with their actual background beside their actual work.
- Are the writers here medical professionals?
- No, and no page on this site should be read as clinical advice. Where something touches on health, such as materials or pelvic floor devices, the page points to a professional source rather than substituting for one.
- Has anybody here been paid by the brands reviewed?
- This site earns affiliate commission on some outbound links, which is disclosed on every page carrying one. Nobody is paid by a brand for coverage, no brand sees a page before publication, and anyone who contributes with a brand relationship in their past declares it beside their work.
- Can I write for this site?
- Possibly, if you can meet the conditions on this page and work in one of the languages here. Reach the publisher through the contact page. Expect to be asked for a verifiable background and a declaration of any brand relationships before anything is agreed.
